Designing inclusive, human-centered products in high-impact tech

I design thoughtful, scalable tools that solve real problems, especially in complex, high-trust spaces.

At Airbnb, I led accessibility initiatives that improved booking confidence for travelers with limited mobility. On Airbnb’s Open Homes team, I used design research to uncover key insights around refugee housing, helping shape business strategy during a critical growth phase. At Western Union, I focused on simplifying global money-transfer experiences across mobile and messaging, partnering closely with engineering and compliance to ship secure, intuitive flows.

I thrive in collaborative 0→1 environments and bring clarity to ambiguity with a research-driven, user-focused approach. I’m at my best working shoulder-to-shoulder with PMs, engineers, and researchers to turn insights into outcomes.

I also co-founded Rumaneh, a small studio celebrating the Arabic language through design. I illustrated and independently published a children’s book, then grew it into a modest product line.

In my free time, I’m usually traveling or at the pottery wheel.

Selected Work

Western Union

First product designer on WU’s Tech Innovations team. I designed an AI-powered WhatsApp assistant that alerts recipients to incoming transfers and lets them redirect to bank or find a nearby cash pickup, built in lock-step with Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Regional Ops for Mexico and beyond. Outcome: designed a compliant, user-first experience and a reusable foundation for future markets.

Airbnb - Accessibility

First program manager on Airbnb’s Accessibility Team. I led research with travelers, hosts, and advocates and created Airbnb’s first Accessible Photography Guidelines, then launched a global program to photograph 1,000 accessible homes and embed standards across product, design, and content. Result: clear, consistent accessibility visuals that improve booking confidence.

Airbnb - Open Homes

As a UX Researcher & Designer, I ran on-the-ground research in Athens—shadowing refugee check-ins and interviewing families and partner agencies. I then created a bilingual Arabic/English stay guide to clarify the Open Homes process. Result: findings presented to leadership (incl. Joe Gebbia) and used to create a new business pillar focused on the refugee experience.
